The Location

Between the forest and city, Breath sits in Fern Tree, one of Hobart’s most distinctive neighbourhoods.

It’s a small mountainside community in the foothills of kunanyi / Mt Wellington, well known for its connection to nature, the fresh mountain air and much-loved local pub, The Fern Tree Tavern. Here native Australian bushland dominates the landscape, walking tracks and waterfalls are easily accessible, and the local wildlife is never far away. Yet Hobart’s waterfront, restaurants and historic sites are also only a short drive down the road.

It is a rare combination: the tranquillity of Tasmania’s wilderness with the convenience of the city nearby. For generations, Hobart locals have escaped to Fern Tree to walk, breathe, and reconnect with the landscape.

Hobart

As Tasmania's capital city, Hobart combines a rich colonial history with a thriving food, arts and cultural scene. The city is home to award-winning restaurants, sandstone buildings, waterfront precincts, galleries, markets and some of Australia's most celebrated cool-climate food and wine producers. Visitors can spend the morning exploring neighbourhoods like Salamanca and Battery Point, enjoy lunch by the waterfront, and return to the quiet of the mountain before sunset.
